PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Eclogite is a coarse-grained deep-seated ultramafic rock, consisting essentially of pink garnet, green pyroxene (some of which is often chrome-diopside) and (rarely) kyanite.

This material has a specific gravity of 3,2 – 3,3 t/m3, which makes it a high density (HD) material. This in turn, makes Eclogite unbeatable in underwater usage. Eclogite is non corrosive and non metallic, and has a high resistance to sea water.

Because of its compressive strengths, this material has a low abrasion, which propagates low content of fine material during handling (less than 0,5% between 0-6mm).

Density is the mass of unit volume of a substance, expressed in such units as grams per cubic centimetre or lbs. per cubic foot.

Specific gravity is the ratio of the mass of a given volume of a substance to the mass of an equal volume of water at a temperature of 4°C.
